人工智能技術(shù)

Artificial intelligence technology

越來越發(fā)達(dá)之后就會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)

With its rapid advancement we arerealizing that it can be a double-edged sword

可能既是幫助我們的一把利劍

on the one hand, a powerful tool to helpus

但實(shí)際上也可能是

but on the other hand

反擊我們的一把“利劍”

a weapon that can turn against us

 

互聯(lián)網(wǎng)進(jìn)入中國31年

This year marks 31 years since theinternet entered China

全中國網(wǎng)民現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)11億多人了

Today, the country has over 1.1 billioninternet users

如此龐大的社會(huì)需求

Such enormous demand from society

和如此龐大的市場的動(dòng)力

and market momentum

就使得這個(gè)行業(yè)呢

give the industry

創(chuàng)新非常有后勁

strong potential for innovation

當(dāng)然客觀來講

At the same time

整個(gè)網(wǎng)絡(luò)視聽未來的大發(fā)展

the future development of online audiovisualmedia

實(shí)際上還受到一些

actually still faces

這個(gè)潛在的一些挑戰(zhàn)

certain underlying challenges

第一個(gè)方面

In the first place

科技的發(fā)展的速度

the speed of technological progress

以及它應(yīng)用的程度

and the extent of its application

還是要加快

both need to accelerate

第二個(gè)挑戰(zhàn) 我個(gè)人覺得

The second challenge, in my view

就是我們網(wǎng)絡(luò)視聽生態(tài)里面的

lies within the online audiovisualecosystem itself

這個(gè)良性的力量

Positive and constructive forces

盡管現(xiàn)在占主導(dǎo)

still dominate at present

但實(shí)際上我們還大量的

we can still hear a great deal of

能聽到一些雜音

distracting voices

博眼球的 爭流量的

content chasing clicks and traffic

甚至某種意義上來講

in some cases

沒有底線的

without moral boundaries

這個(gè)行業(yè)要想發(fā)達(dá)的話

For this industry to truly thrive

或者發(fā)展的話

and flourish

是需要有正能量

we need to let positive energy

來發(fā)揮它的這個(gè)作用

exert its proper influence

我們?cè)诨ヂ?lián)網(wǎng)這個(gè)時(shí)代

In today’s internet era

已經(jīng)強(qiáng)烈地感受到

we deeply feel

就是基于大數(shù)據(jù)模型

the impact of big-data-based models

對(duì)用戶進(jìn)行畫像

used to build user profiles

然后對(duì)他進(jìn)行精準(zhǔn)地推送

and push highly targeted content

當(dāng)然說實(shí)話也有一些挑戰(zhàn)

But to be honest there are stillchallenges

全世界的語料庫也好

inglobal corpora

這個(gè)數(shù)據(jù)庫也好

and databases

漢語只占了百分之十

Chineseaccounts for only about 10%

你要大量的用非漢語類的內(nèi)容

Thatmeans a large amount of training data must come from non-Chinese content

比方英語類的內(nèi)容

forexample English content

可是英語類的

especiallyEnglish

所有的這些內(nèi)容

Yet allthis English-language material

一定會(huì)帶上它自有的價(jià)值觀

inevitablycarries its own values

所以這就意味著

This means that

人工智能生產(chǎn)出來的內(nèi)容

AI-generated content

很有可能價(jià)值觀和我們就不對(duì)齊

may not align with our own values

簡單來說就是價(jià)值會(huì)有沖突

simply put it may conflict with ours

由于人工智能技術(shù)

As artificial intelligence technologyadvances

越來越發(fā)達(dá)之后就會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)

we will increasingly realize

它的這個(gè)精準(zhǔn)性

AI’s growing precision

可能既是幫助我們的一把利劍

can be a powerful tool to empower us

但實(shí)際上也可能是

but if misused

反擊我們的一把“利劍”

it can also turn into a weapon againstus

用好了能賦能

In the right hands it can empower

你要用得不好

in the wrong hands

其實(shí)給我們是帶來

it can pose

巨大的挑戰(zhàn)和威脅的

serious risks and threats

現(xiàn)在學(xué)界和業(yè)界

Bothacademia and industry

在人工智能這些挑戰(zhàn)方面

are nowworking on AI-related challenges

大家都在做深度的研究

carryingout further research

比方說算法推薦帶來的偏見

bias inalgorithmic recommendations

比方說算法過度之后

over-relianceon algorithms

帶來的信息繭房

leadingto “information cocoons”

比方說人工智能

andvalue deviations

出現(xiàn)的這個(gè)價(jià)值偏差

in AIoutputs

用人工智能生成出來的內(nèi)容

MuchAI-generated content

有很多東西都是虛假的

can befalse or misleading

我們都可以舉一個(gè)例子

We cangive an example

人工智能生成出來這個(gè)人

AnAI-generated image of a person

你會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)他是六個(gè)手指頭

withsix fingers

它都判斷不出來

because the system cannot

我已經(jīng)生成了五個(gè)

correctly identify

我就又生成了一個(gè)

when to stop after five

這就說明人工智能

This shows that

還沒有達(dá)到它的

AI is still far from

最聰明的這個(gè)程度

being truly intelligent

現(xiàn)在業(yè)界都在不斷地調(diào)整參數(shù)

The industry is constantly adjustingparameters

學(xué)界也不斷地做深入地研究

while academia continues to researchsolutions

怎么去避免人工智能

to avoid these problems

帶出來的這些問題

that could arise from AI

一般一個(gè)新興產(chǎn)業(yè)

Normally an emerging industry

新興技術(shù)的出現(xiàn)

or a new technology

你都要給它一定的時(shí)間

needs time

讓它去發(fā)展

to mature

我相信隨著人工智能的

I believe that with AI’s ongoing

不斷地迭代升級(jí)

iterations and upgrades

會(huì)讓整個(gè)的這些挑戰(zhàn)

these challenges

越來越成為一些

will gradually transform into

良性發(fā)展的一些機(jī)遇

opportunities for healthy growth
